A video of a Patriotic Front (PF) member, Maxwell Chongu, apologising to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) for causing ridicule to the church is making rounds on social media.

In the video, Chongu was seen standing alongside his wife and child, issuing an apology supposedly at Chelston SDA.

The PF member’s apology was particularly targeted at the Dorcas Mothers.

“I’m here today to seek your forgiveness. This thing has brought a lot of embarrassment not only to myself but also my wife who is an SDA, my mother in law and I believe that even the President and the First Lady are SDA. That action was very disrespectful and it was in my past, I’ve buried it but I’ve failed to move on until…’cause I kept hearing a voice telling me ‘you need to seek the face of God for this action and in so doing I moved from place to place until I finally gathered the courage to say look…the church is right across the road, I live in Avondale so why can’t I go and approach a pastor, ” he wondered in the midst of chants of approval by the SDA women.

The apology has, however, come after five long years.

In 2018, Chongu disrespected the SDA church by taking pictures clad in the Dorcas Mothers uniform, while drinking beer.

The pictures that went viral at the time, sparked a serious uproar among the SDA church.

Chongu shared the clip on his official social media platform with a caption that indicated that he felt at peace after issuing the apology.

“My heart is truly at peace after reconciling with the SDA church,” the caption accompanying the shared post of the video read.

“Its good you have chosen to do the right thing,” one post read in the comment section.

“Who are we not to forgive a fellow sinner,” another social media user commented.

However, others have questioned the sincerity of the apology.

“This apology is a fake one cause if PF were still in power this man couldn’t have apologized,” another Facebook post read.
